Charles Wright Academy Lower School students take physical education classes three to four times per week. Third and fourth-grade students take swim lessons at the local YMCA once a week during the school day (Fall for fourth grade, and Spring for third grade).
Lower School students also have the opportunity to join additional CWA youth sports teams after school such as Cross Country, Flag Football, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball and Track & Field, including competitions against other local schools, as part of our after-school enrichment program.
We believe in the power of sports to foster character development, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among our students. Our program offers a wide range of exciting and engaging sports activities designed to suit the interests and abilities of every young athlete.
Students can explore various sports and discover their passion. Whether they are beginners or experienced players, our dedicated coaches are committed to helping each student develop their skills, improve their techniques, and reach their full potential.
Students learn valuable life lessons such as discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Our coaches not only focus on honing athletic abilities but also emphasize the importance of fair play, respect, and teamwork. These principles extend beyond the field or court and shape the character of our students both in sports and their everyday lives.
CWA youth sports teams are part of the Elementary Nisqually Sports League, which includes several other area private schools.
