How to Apply

Please note: For the 2026-2027 school year, students applying for Beginning School must be 30 months old by August 31, 2026, and students applying for Kindergarten must be five years old by August 31, 2026. Notifications of the admission decision will be emailed to applicants who have met all deadlines on February 20, 2026.

1. Application and fee

Complete the online application and submit the application fee. Once the online application and the application fee are submitted, please use the online checklist in your portal as a guide to completing the next steps.
2. Complete and submit the Family Questionnaire
3. Upload a photo of the applicant
4. Schedule an observation

Applicants will participate in a group observation. Once you have completed the family application and paid your application fee, call (253) 620-8373 or email us to make your appointment for an observation.
5. Teacher Recommendation

If your child has been in a school or daycare setting, please provide your child’s current teacher’s name and email address on the Teacher Recommendation Form in the admission portal. Charles Wright will use this information to send an online confidential reference form to your child’s current teacher/caregiver. Teacher Recommendations should be received by February 2, 2026.
6. Tour 

We highly encourage your family to tour CWA and look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful 107-acre campus. We welcome families for an individual tour. Morning visits between 9-10 a.m. work best, although we can accommodate other times when necessary. Please call (253) 620-8373 or email us to schedule your family’s personal tour.

Within your family portal checklist, please locate “School Records Request.” You can enter the school administrator’s email address responsible for grades, school records, or progress reports at your child’s current school. This will contact the school to send us your child’s school records directly. The “School Records” checklist item will be marked complete once Charles Wright has received the records.

6. Teacher Recommendation

Please input your child’s current teacher’s name and email address on the Teacher Recommendation Form in the admission portal. Charles Wright will use this information to send your child’s current teacher an online confidential reference form. Teacher Recommendations should be submitted and received by CWA no later than February 2, 2026.

We’re excited to learn more about you as an applicant, including your academic and extracurricular interests. Students can collaboratively complete this section with the help of a parent, though older students may choose to complete this section independently.

Applicants for grades 5-8 will participate in a 20-30 minute interview with the Divisional Director or the Director of Enrollment Management. This can take place most weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please call (253) 620-8373 to schedule. We look forward to getting to know you better!
