Summer Camps and More at CWA
Summer camp at Charles Wright Academy offers hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity and build confidence. Through play, creativity, and collaboration, we help campers grow as capable, caring individuals in a community that celebrates the joy in learning.
Give your child a summer experience they’ll remember forever at Charles Wright Academy. Our campus spans 107 acres and features maintained forest trails, an outdoor classroom, playgrounds, and fields for nonstop fun in the sun. Students also play, learn, and explore in our state-of-the-art athletics, STEM, and art facilities, where CWA offers a wide range of day academic, athletic, and exploratory camp activities for students entering grades 1 through 10, as well as teen leadership programming.

Most Innovator summer classes and camps start at $500/week for a half-day course.

General Camp
Campers in general camp experience the best of everything, including time hiking, exploring, and fort-building in our forest, playing field games, making arts & crafts with our art specialist, and spending time in our outdoor classroom working on nature activities with our nature specialist. General camps also include activities from our “theme of the week,” keeping each week of general camp fresh throughout the summer!

Explorers: Specialty Camps
CWA Explorers combine the magic of general camp with hands-on learning. These half-day sessions feature an hour and a half of focused activity time and an hour and a half of general camp activities, including time in our forest, field games, arts & crafts, and spending time in our outdoor classroom working on nature activities.

Innovators: Academic and Art Intensives
Academic classes and Intensive camps are offered to students in all divisions, though they focus on Middle and Upper School. These are skill-building classes designed to allow students to deeply explore topics and to stave off the summer slump. These are non-graded classes and will not earn credit, however, students and guardians will receive feedback from the teacher, may participate in a family share, or bring home a tangible project. Innovator classes are taught by CWA lead faculty.

Innovator classes include curated humanities, math, science, and visual arts courses that complement a rigorous education at Charles Wright Academy.
Summer Sports Camps and Clinics
Our sport clinics are geared to help Middle School (rising 6th-8th) students learn and improve their game-play over summer break. Come find out what sports at Charles Wright Academy are all about! All summer camp coaches also coach throughout the year at the youth, Middle School, or High School level. Many of our coaches have led CWA athletics to regional and state competitions. CWA prioritizes player safety and teamwork while your student learns and/or improves their technique and gameplay.
Younger players entering 1st-5th grade are invited to build skills through our sports camps. These half-day sessions feature an hour and a half of focused time on a sport, and an hour and a half of general camp activities, including time in our forest, field games, arts & crafts, and spending time in our outdoor classroom working on nature activities.

Stewards: Teen Leadership
Youth entering grades 8+ are invited to join our leadership offerings, featuring our Counselor-in-Training (grades 7-9) and Intern programs. All camps are taught by CWA faculty and staff, and trusted partners.

Youth entering grades 7-9 may participate in our Counselor-in-Training program, where they will complete their Red Cross Babysitter Certification, gain leadership and teamworking skills, and implement the skills they have learned by shadowing our lead counselors by joining a camp group in our general or explorer camps.

Youth entering grades 9-12 who have previously participated in CWA Summer Camp’s CIT or Intern Program (or equivalent), or youth entering grades 10-12 who attend CWA, may apply for our internship program. Acceptance is on a rolling basis. Applications are now open.
🕒 Flexible Options:
We provide flexibility with both morning and afternoon sessions, allowing your students to immerse themselves in a variety of creative and recreational experiences. Plus, for those registered for both sessions, we offer the convenience of staying for lunch and additional playtime, ensuring a seamless, enjoyable day.
Register your camper for a full day of specialty camps (or split the day with a half day of general camps and a half day of specialty camps) by choosing a morning and afternoon session. Full-day general camps are also offered.
Registration includes all activities and a snack. Campers must bring their own lunch and a water bottle. Camps are based on your camper’s rising grade for the upcoming school year.
After care is available from 3:30-5:30 for $100 a week or $25 a day drop-in.
Summer camp begins June 15, 2026, and ends August 7, 2026. The full schedule will be available in mid-February when registration opens.

CWA SUMMER CAMP POLICIES:
EXCHANGE: You may change to a different program or session at any time for no fee, except for the difference in program cost. Changes are subject to program or session availability. Please email summercamp@charleswright.org to request an exchange.
CANCELLATIONS: You must submit a written cancellation notice to summercamp@charleswright.org. Cancellations are final and cannot be reinstated. You may cancel up to April 18, 2026, and receive an 80% refund. After May 1, no refunds will be given except for a medical cancellation. In the case of a medical condition that causes cancellation, a full refund (minus the deposit) will be given if we cannot move the child to another program. Written notification from the family and physician are required. If you cancel and are eligible for a refund, payments may be transferred to another program with open registration for the same person or another person in the same account.
If Charles Wright Academy must cancel a program due to low enrollment or for any other reason, a refund will be issued if we cannot place your child in an alternative program.
Charles Wright Academy does not offer pro-rated fees for partial program attendance.
