Susanne joined Charles Wright Academy in 2016 and currently serves as the Director of Experiential Education. She previously held roles as the Middle School librarian and a humanities teacher. Before coming to CWA, she worked in both the Upper and Middle School libraries at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C.

Originally from Seattle, Susanne earned her B.A. in Medieval/Renaissance Studies and Classical Civilizations from Wellesley College, followed by an M.A. in Art History from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, and an M.L.I.S. from the University of Maryland.

Susanne has participated in the NWAIS Emerging Leaders Institute, the World Leadership School’s Purpose Summit, and risk management training through NOLS and the Wilderness Risk Management Conference.

Susanne is passionate about creating meaningful outdoor experiences for students. Whether exploring the Olympic coast in the rain or sunshine, she treasures the shared memories and growth that come from these adventures. She also enjoys collaborating with faculty and staff to design engaging programs and enhance the overall student experience.
