Rixa joined Charles Wright Academy in 2021 and previously served as the Director of Auxiliary Programs. With 20 years of leadership, advocacy, and teaching experience in early education, she brings a deep commitment to nurturing young learners.

Originally from Central City, Colorado, Rixa holds a B.A. in Child Development and Family Studies from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She is certified in Risk Management through NOLS, has participated in the Leading Playful Inquiry Cohort, and actively advocates for early education at the local, state, and national levels. Rixa also serves as a National Advisor for Defending Early Years and has expertise in outdoor and forest studies.

“I am inspired every day by the children I work with, who are infinitely capable and full of curiosity and wonder,” Rixa says. “I am also grateful to collaborate with talented faculty who guide each child’s learning journey at CWA.”
