Dear Charles Wright Community,

It is with deep sadness that we let our community know that Interim Head of School, Chris Gorycki, unexpectedly passed away over the weekend.

We will be forever grateful to Chris for the healing of our community that he so ably began over these last few months. The kindness, compassion, expertise, and dedication to improving lives that he brought to campus were shining examples of Chris’ professionalism and his character. We are so very grateful to his family for sharing him with us for this time.

We know that alongside the profound sadness we all feel will be concern over the uncertainty that this event brings for the balance of the school year. Be assured that the transparency and collaboration between the board, faculty, staff, parents, and the greater CWA community that was key to the successful hiring and recruitment of Chris will continue.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Rachel Rippl, who has agreed to serve as Acting Head of School as we grieve and find our footing. We will work with Rachel to make sure our students, faculty, and staff are well supported. More information will be forthcoming soon, and regularly. We are thankful for you, our caring CWA community, as we continue on the path forward, together.
